What You Should Know Before Creating Your First MLM Lead Capture System …
“Fake it till you make it.”
- Your Upline
If you’ve purchased Magnetic Sponsoring(MS) or Building on a Budget, you’re familiar with the concept of using your own lead capture page to generate leads for your primary business. And if you are beginner, I highly recommend using the MS system as your initial lead capture page before going off and creating your own capture page from scratch.
This is because MS provides you with a highly optimized and profitable system. With it you can cover your marketing cost and test your sources of traffic so you’ll know what converts and what doesn’t. (In other words, you get paid to learn how to generate leads).
We used the MS system for about a year after buying the MS course. Using mostly AdWords traffic, we made thousands of dollars in profits promoting the Magnetic Sponsoring course and Traffic Formula and generated over 1,500 leads. However, after we got the hang of traffic generation, we wanted to create our own lead capture page and follow up system.
You may, at some point, be ready to do the same thing.
Maybe it’s so that you have a lead system specifically for selling your prospects on your opportunity.
Or maybe you want to break away from the MS system altogether and you feel you have the knowledge and expertise to stand alone as a leader in the industry.
Or maybe it’s so that you can have your own hybrid system, where you have your own newsletters and content, but you still offer MS products as your front end. (What we did).
Whatever it is that you may want to do, you’ll need to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the 3 different types of systems you can choose from, (each serving different purposes):
- Opportunity Lead System
- Generic Lead System
- Hybrid Lead System
I’m going to break down each of these 3 types of lead capture systems for you and provide you some examples to help you understand them better and to help you decide on one of them.
(Note: These topics are covered much more in depth and in detail within MLM Traffic Formula and MLM System Formula.)
Option 1: Opportunity Lead System
This system focuses solely on converting your opt-ins into business builders. It does not bother with trying to add specific value to your customer other than what they need to know to get started with you and your business opportunity.
It sells your leads on the business opportunity and your team – straight to the point.
The prospects who opt-in know precisely what they can expect and are seriously checking out your opportunity – hopefully they already know who you are. As such, the email newsletters sent out via this system are specific to the opportunity and provide the details on your behalf. If you are creating the system, the newsletters should also address the benefit of joining your team versus joining someone else within the same company.
The lead will either 1) join or 2) not join. You can try to monetize them via a front-end, but if it is not directly tied to your opportunity, it might distract them. For the most part, you’ll just want to focus on presenting your opportunity.
(Note: If you are a beginner and just using the Magnetic Sponsoring system, you may want to first check to see if your company already has a system setup to do this for you. If they do, great! You’re done.)
This type of system works best when:
- Someone is already familiar with who you are and what you have to offer as a leader. They are interested in joining you, but want to learn more about your business.
- Someone is actively looking for a business opportunity specifically in network marketing.
- Someone is actively looking for information specifically on your business opportunity.
Pros of this System:
- Straight and to the point
- The system does the explaining and provides the details about your opportunity for you
- Easy to create content
- Can transition leads from the Magnetic Sponsoring system to get info on your opportunity with minimal effort
Cons of this System:
- Not good for building relationships
- Singular purpose, getting people to join your business; if they say no, it may be tough to monetize them with a front-end product
- High opt-out rate
- Little generic value added to the reader
Examples:
- Carbon Copy Pro for Wealth Masters International (WMI)
- Discover Mangosteen for Xango
In the “pros”, I mention that this system could work synergistically with the MS system. Here’s how…
As you follow-up with your MS leads via email and phone, you should always have an easy to remember URL link to your opportunity capture page as a signature in your emails or provide over the phone, if they ever ask what opportunity you are with.
Plus, if they are coming from MS, you don’t have to worry about monetizing them through your opportunity system because that’s already being done.
If your opportunity doesn’t have a lead capture page then you may want to create it along with some newsletters explaining the benefits and details of your opportunity. (Be sure to abide by company rules when doing this.)
The best thing about having your own opportunity lead system is that you can call your prospects from that system and talk to them about your business, because they specifically requested information about your opportunity.
It is NOTHING like calling cold leads at all… Thank God!
